Self described as an intuitive painter, Sophie’s marks are a visceral and direct response to the landscape. Drawing immediately on to the surface with paint, the first marks are fresh and not over-thought as the painting
is already formed in her mind.

Sophie expresses her fascination for the land through painting, drawing and mark making. Seeing endless possibilities through colour and texture, Sophie embraces oil paints, pastels and charcoal, seeking new compositions of shapes and light within her landscapes or still life scenes.
