New Painting Classes at Sophie Perez Studios

After many years of developing my own painting practice and running workshops through schools, galleries and regional arts organisations, I’m excited to announce the launch of my own regular painting classes at my studio in Hastings.

I hold a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Painting and an MA in Fine Art Painting from the Royal College of Art in London. Over the past 20 years, my practice has continued to evolve, allowing me to exhibit and sell my work and become part of a supportive and respected arts community in Australia and beyond.

I’ve created a wonderful studio space for thinking, making and sharing, and I’d love to open it up to others who want to begin or develop their own creative practice.

Classes will run for 2.5 hours each week, with two options per term: Wednesday evenings 6.30-9pm or Friday mornings 9.30-11am. Each session will follow a structured approach while allowing plenty of space for individual exploration and development.

I know how difficult it can be to find the time, materials and community to make creativity part of a busy life. These classes are designed to give you that space — not only to learn and develop your painting, but also to make time for yourself and your wellbeing.

You’ll meet new people, build a supportive creative network and develop skills that can stay with you for life, taking your painting wherever you choose. I am intentionally capping 6 students per class to ensure I am able to give each of you as much support you need.

The cost for an 8 week term is $550 -All materials are included, except for stretched canvas, which you are welcome to bring. Tea and coffee supplied.
